What are cannabis social clubs?

A cannabis social club (CSC) in Barcelona, often called a weed club in Barcelona, is a private, non-profit association of adult cannabis users. Members share cannabis grown for the collective inside the club's private premises. Clubs are not shops, not dispensaries open to the public, and not Dutch-style coffeeshops: you cannot walk in and buy over the counter.

Membership and access. To enter you must be 21 or older and show a valid photo ID or passport. Most clubs ask for an invitation or a quick prior registration, usually arranged over WhatsApp before your visit. Tourists are welcome at many clubs as long as they meet these requirements.

Legality. Cannabis social clubs operate as private associations in a tolerated legal grey area in Catalonia. Consumption is private, among members, inside the club. Public consumption, and any buying or selling outside the association, are not allowed.

Who it's for. CSCs suit adults who want a safe, discreet and social space to consume responsibly, including visitors who prefer a calm members' lounge over the street. Use the directory and map below to find a club by neighbourhood.
